Goldsmiths University 2nd year Stop Motion Animation project: Our protagonist is an ancient tree - blurring the lines of who and what can be interviewed in an animated documentary.
Inspired by the Tottenham Yew, a 450 year old tree, the concept to “interview” the voice of an ancient creature was born. Working in a group, this idea evolved into a representation of the passage of time surrounding our all enduring protagonist. The binaural audio is reflective of the way we understand trees to communicate - through pulsing transmissions via their underground root systems.
